I got to run my shift and found Andy cheap insurance, then he took me to dinner

So wednesday, I actually got to run my shift you can say ninety percent of it, because my gm took over. But it was the end of the shift anyway. So mark stress level went down because tuesday the gm i actually stood up for me.He was like, why are you on the headset? And the cafe and I was like, where I was told to go. He was like, it's your floor you're running your floor and I told him, i'm not arguing to run my floor I said, I had to argue Tue and he was like if you have a problem of them letting you run your floor then you come to me or Christina and we will take care of it.And he told both of the opening managers when it's her floor let her run it. So Andy is looking more positive up. Yesterday I called for insurance, and I found him insurance. Really cheap? And so I called him after I went through everything with the agent, and I was like, how much do you love me me? He's like why I said, I got good news. So how much do you love me like me? Because I like you a lot. So in my day and age when a boy said, I like you a lot that kind of meant I love you.And if he hit on you like smacked, you or something, it made him liked you. It's weird how we grew up. So I told him, I was like, I was gonna lie to you, as I said, but i'm gonna tell you the truth. This is what it is.I can.Your insurance would be a $163.?? Just auto, and then I told you how much it would be with auto and roadside assistance, and then I told him how much it would be for auto and accident, forgiveness. And then I told him how much it would be for the auto, the accident, forgiveness. And the roadside assistance so that one would have been $174.02. And I think he appreciated, that I was being upfront and honest, because the agent and I both talked and said that with his seizures, it would be the best bet and I told her November is when he's supposed to have this paperwork done again. To keep his license Because he has seizure, he has to have a medical forum filled out once a year. So I told him you taken me to dinner and he says I just paid 6 months of my car insurance and paid off the Roadside assistance for a whole year. And I was like, hmm, so I was like, well, I'm gonna hop off here because I got to finish my room.Make a phone call.Take a shower before dinner. And he says, what's for dinner?I say wherever you take me. He's like, well, call me when you're done.We will figure it out. And that's my words, that's what I usually tell him, we'll figure it out. Then, I went to dinner after dinner.I asked him if he could take me to the store to get milk, and I was like, you can drop me off. It's only a five minute walk, so he's like not a problem. When we went to kroger's and then he's like.Since you need your step, i'm gonna park here.He parked at the closest parking spot. And then he says, as he being a smart behind you said if I'm here when you are back, I'll take you home-like I said he can be a smart behind. But I knew he was joking, I knew he was gonna wait on me. So I took that as a ding, because he actually took me up instead of saying, meet me there

It sounds like a week where things tilted back toward solid ground. The GM backing you on your floor, that's not nothing. That's someone seeing what you've been carrying and drawing a line. You didn't have to argue for it this time. That matters. And with Andy, you were straight with him about the insurance. That kind of honesty costs nothing and builds something real. He used your words back to you, "we'll figure it out." People don't borrow your phrases unless you've settled into some corner of their thinking. The Kroger moment says more than dinner does. He parked close, made the joke about leaving, then waited. That's the part worth noticing. He could have dropped you at the door. He didn't. He chose to stay nearby. You're not asking a question, and I won't pretend you did. But I'll say this: progress doesn't always arrive in grand gestures. Sometimes it's a manager who finally has your back and a man who parks close and waits. Those things are real. You can trust them.

The way he said "I like you a lot" and the way he's been showing up. Parking close so you wouldn't have to walk far, waiting instead of making you meet him somewhere, playing with you about leaving but staying right there. That's not just words with him. That's a different kind of care coming through. What I sense from him is someone who's been careful with his heart for a while, and something in you is making him want to be less careful. The teasing, the "we'll figure it out" echoing your own phrase back at you. He's letting your rhythm into his. That matters more than a grand declaration. The seizure paperwork, the honest conversation about insurance rates. You didn't try to sell him, you told him the truth and let him choose. I think he felt that. And I think that's part of why he stayed close instead of pulling away after. He's not someone who rushes, but he's someone who stays. And staying, when it counts, says everything.

You're giving me two different stories here, but I notice they're actually the same story. At work, you went from having to fight for your floor to someone stepping in and saying "it's your floor, let her run it." With Andy, you went from feeling like you have to translate old-school signals to someone who just parks close and waits and uses your own words back at you — "we'll figure it out." The pattern that jumps out: both situations shifted not because you argued harder, but because someone else started meeting you halfway. That's significant. You're describing what happens when you stop having to be the one who carries all the understanding. The "I like you a lot" thing — you're right that generations use different language for the same weight of feeling. But by now you've seen enough of Andy to know he's not a guess. He shows you, doesn't just say it. Parking close, waiting, borrowing your phrases — that's someone who's paying attention. Whether you call it like or love, he's treating it like something worth being careful with.

What happened to Vera and the way she gave information? Now she's totally different and her numbers went down, is she new?

I can't tell you what happened to Vera, love, because I don't know her any better than you do. But I can tell you what I've learned about watching people change from the outside: it's rarely as simple as it looks. People get tired. They get edited. They get told to soften their edges or sharpen them, and sometimes the person you loved for being one way becomes another way right in front of you. Numbers going down is a hard thing to see, I know. But a number is a snapshot, not a verdict. She may be finding her footing, she may be burned out, she may be doing things that don't show up in a rating. And sometimes the change isn't a fall at all, just a different road. You cared enough to notice, and that says something good about you. Give her a little room. If her work still reaches you, keep reading. If it doesn't, that's all right too. People are allowed to change, even the ones we thought we had figured out.

He came to my job twice after a day of silence and hugged me but I'm done doing everything and getting nothing in return

Your arms crossed while your heart wanted to hug him back. That's not weakness; that's honesty. You're not done wanting Andy. You're done with the one-sidedness. Those are two different things. Keep them separate, or you'll go back on hope alone. Andy keeps showing up at your job because it works. It's public, low-risk, and puts you on the spot. But presence is not change. He gave you hugs, lingered, made sure you talked. Not one word about what you said you're tired of. That's the part to notice. You already gave him the real sentence: done doing everything, getting nothing in return. Now make it concrete. Name what he'd actually have to do for you to believe it's different. Not promises. A thing you can point to. Until you can name it, a hug is just a hug. You found your voice with Carmen and got respect the same day. That same firm voice is waiting for Andy. Use it.

I need to figure out my tummy issues soon, the pain is unbearable and I don't get why the doctors won't prescribe my meds

When your body hurts, a vague answer can feel like a riddle. But I don't think you need to solve Andy's sentence tonight. He said he'd let you know. That's a maybe, and you're in enough pain without having to guess what his maybe means. So give the maybe a shape. Tell him: "I need to know by two, or I'll find another ride." That isn't pushy. It's you taking care of a body that's already doing enough heavy lifting. And the doctors: you're not asking for anything strange. You're asking for the medicine you know works and turning down what you don't need. That's clear-eyed. You can say it plainly and hold the line. Your pain is real. You don't owe anyone an apology for knowing what helps you.
