I'm tired of doing everything at work and finally put my foot down

Andy, seven days in a row, initiating communication. I think something's clicked in his brain that he misses what we had. I don't blame you. I'm a good catch when you're willing to be the person that you're supposed to be. Carmen, the lady that I was having issues with at work. She actually told me that I kicked, butt today. I'm like, yep, I know what i'm doing. And I don't have problems working hard. I have problems working hard. Why everybody else is doing nothing. And the sad thing is not my place to tell, but her dad was going through some stuff. Tuesday night, so she wanted to be there for him. She had to work Wednesday, and I told her I would come in for her. And she said no, that she'd have to figure it out, but she's like you're the only one that asked if I was okay, she was like, nobody else cared. Now, I did not tell her this. Because that would be a slap in her face. But she's kissing, but to the wrong people. And so is the new g m they kiss and butt to the people that want to see them fell and want them out of there. One of the guy managers flirts with Carmen. Carmen is 21. She just turned 21 beginning of July, and then he's all for it. You know, but then when Carmen's not there, he was like. Oh, it was so calm yesterday. Why can't we have this again? Well, you help or make it chaotic. I think when I stop doing stuff, she realized that i'm an asset to her. I actually told my new g m the day I was like, carmen told me, I kicked butt today and she was like, really, she's like. Can I ask you a question? I was like, yeah, and she was like, does she always take off not getting stuck. And whatnot, but does she always take off? I said, yeah. She'll take off. That's why people don't like working winter. I'm like your window. Person should not have to go beg the food. All the time because you're not there. I mean going to the bathroom, I get, but getting stuck, that's something that you have to delegate to your crew, people. And i'm not trying to sound mean, the balls usually delegates to the people below them to go get stuff. Now, a leader is different, but carmen is far from a leader. And i'm just speaking, the truth crime will use you until she can't. For example, Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday, I have to do toast and bacon help for stock up front. I told her the last time I had to do those big and help her up front. I was like, get your teas done, i'm not doing them today she just not the extent shot. You wanna stack up front get it all done don't have acid And I just straight up and told her, I said, don't take it the wrong way, I said, but I'm tired of doing everything I'm like, I don't get paid enough for it. I do it all the time. I said, I'm stuck on the cafe and headset. My whole 8 hour shift. Because nobody wants to learn it. And I was like, and then Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, I have to do toasted, break, hey, go up front and stock and especially on Wednesdays. And Sundays, I have to change the pumps I have more to do up there. I'm like, I'm not doing it all. And I think she finally got to hit when I put my foot down. I told her today we are on the same goal to help the customers.

I pulled two cards on the energy in that building, and what surfaced was the Empress beside the Knight of Wands. The Empress is you in that room. You're the one who makes things grow there — you learn the cafe nobody else will learn, you produce, you're the one who even noticed Carmen was hurting when nobody else did. The whole place runs on your abundance, and everyone's been living off it. That's why the minute you stopped carrying, they felt it like a missing limb. The people kissing up to the wrong people are mistaking performance for power — they don't see that the real power is whoever actually produces. And the Knight of Wands is telling you where your energy belongs now: forward, fired up, moving under your own steam. Not planted in somebody else's garden, tending fruit they'll never thank you for. You've already shown them what happens when you stop. Now show yourself what happens when you start.

Seven days of him initiating is a real pattern — but let's not rename it "clicked" yet. Missing what you had and doing the work to keep it are two different rooms, and you already sound like you know that. The work part is the bigger win. You stopped being the only one carrying the whole shift and said it out loud: same goal, help the customers, but I'm not doing it all. That's not mean, that's a boundary. Being the only one who asked if Carmen was okay while she hands her loyalty where it gets her nothing — you clocked it and then stopped subsidizing it. That's self-respect, not a slap in her face. So keep the foot down. Let Andy keep showing up without you chasing. A streak is nice; consistency when it's inconvenient is the tell.

What's coming through is that you're living the same lesson in two places at once. Andy starts reaching out the same week you stop carrying everyone at work. People rarely see what you give while you're giving it — they feel it when it stops. So the real question isn't whether something clicked in him. It's whether he's reaching for you, or for the ease you used to provide. Watch whether he asks about your day, who you are now — or only wants what you had. Same goal, help the customers — that wasn't cold. That was you seen standing still, not only in motion. People who only value you when you're producing don't get to keep all of you. You're a good catch. Let Andy show you which kind he is.

Will my finances get easier or do I have to tough it out?

Working sixty hours a week just to keep up with the steep costs of your first home after twenty years of renting is a heavy, grinding load, and it makes complete sense that you are already stretched to your limit. Adding weekend work right now would likely lead to burnout rather than relief. Buying a property is a massive milestone, but the first year is notorious for hidden expenses and compounding bills that catch you off guard. On the question of asking for a raise, if your performance warrants it and you have not had an adjustment reflecting your current responsibilities, approaching your employer is worth considering. However, do not treat a raise as your only escape hatch. Right now, what needs to shift is not just your income, but the breathing room in your monthly overhead. Look closely at those tripled bills and see where small trims can happen without breaking your spirit, because toughing this out purely through exhaustion is not a sustainable path.

Are some of us here to serve the community through work instead of finding a soulmate?

There is a temptation to look for grand, cosmic explanations when our daily routine becomes completely consuming, especially when working sixty hours a week leaves no room for anything else. But what feels like a spiritual echo or a past-life battlefield is often much closer to home: a quiet belief that we must carry everything ourselves to prove we belong. Working yourself to the bone does not mean you were chosen for unending sacrifice in another era. It usually means you have quietly accepted a standard of endurance where rest feels unsafe and stopping feels like failure. You are not paying a karmic debt on a clock-in sheet. The battle you are fighting right now isn't left over from history—it is the exhausting weight of a life where your own boundaries were left behind.

Can you tell me about my past life and my soulmate connection?

When looking into the quiet background of your mind, what came through first was a sense of standing before a large, heavy door in an old stone building, where books were kept by candlelight. It seems that the heavy focus you carry toward philosophy and the written word isn't something that started in recent years, but rather a continuation of an old habit, almost as if part of you spent decades in solitude trying to translate human suffering into sentences. That strong pull you feel toward someone you call a soulmate often arises from that same quiet place inside. When someone lives largely in their own thoughts for a long time, meeting another person who seems to recognize the silence beneath your words can feel less like a new encounter and more like a door finally opening in a room you thought you had to inhabit entirely alone.
